Critique I received
  • Impressive use of Blender for first timer
  • The speed and movement does not feel intentional
  • The form borders impossible and realistic, needs clarity
  • The colors don’t represent anything
  • It’s floating in space without purpose

I took from this that while I learned how to use the software, I overlooked the importance of the message. With that in mind, I changed the message to something more meaningful to me; I also decided to intentionally lean into that odd balance of reality and illusion.


The Result


Insight This project demonstrates the use of motion design as a tool for emotional storytelling—creating visual experiences that connect with how something feels, rather than how it looks. This piece captures that suspended moment where something impossible feels completely real, where nostalgia and comfort co-exist.
 
Using Blender, I built and animated a surreal environment, controlling light, material, and movement to serve my emotional intention.  My goal was not to illustrate a time machine, but to create the dream of wanting one.
